Number (N)ine 9th Anniversary "Eddie Vedder" Mickey Mouse Statue

BRAND:
Number (N)ine

INFO:
Created By Takahiro Miyashita in 1997, The Number (N)ine name itself is derived from “Revolution 9,” a Beatles song off their 1968 album, The White Album. Inspired by Americana and music, popular designers Jun Takahashi and Takahiro Miyashita found themselves much more entrenched and influenced by emerging youth culture, in comparison to that of their avant-garde counterparts, like Yohji Yamamoto and Rei Kawakubo. Always inspired by popular rock artists, such as Axl Rose, Eddie Vedder, and Mick Jagger, Miyashita has constructed a series of simplified graphics utilized throughout his collections to convey a message that invites conversation. This enormous monochromatic painted resin statue comes from a long standing relationship of collaboration that Disney and Number (N)ine share, and was created to commemorate the 9th Anniversary of the label. An attempt to represent Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, the figure depicts him as a three piece Mickey Mouse on stage deep in concert - body, tail, and mic stand.
