Undercover 2010 "Gira" Leather
Undercover 2010 “Gira” Leather from Undercover
Size 3, fits like US large.
Taken from Middleman listing: Come winter, Jun was still enamored with the concepts of Dieter Rams, which had explicitly guided “Less but Better”. He’d also taken up running as a hobby, which, by his own admission significantly affected his work. His clothes took on a utilitarian, military-tinged nature. In a twist of irony, it was a simplification of his work that allowed Jun to shine as an exceptionally skilled tailor, while his immaculate eye for detailing still produced complex and unique works.
The style and silhouette are a pure distillation of Jun’s punk influences. Intentionally distressed with a beautiful faded patina, unique asymmetric darting across both the front and back of the jacket, and bronzed hardware which meshes into the crimson/brown leather. The detailing and references, however, suggest Jun’s present (in 2010) preoccupation with practical clothing. The GIRA insignia refers to the “Gyakusou International Running Association”, an acronym which eventually spawned Jun’s Gyakusou collaboration with Nike. The right sleeve contains the classic Undercover “U” in an atom like sphere, while the left has an MA-1 pocket.
Great condition. All distressing is intentional on the print and the leather.
